Official Practice will begin Saturday morning and go's until...

House has running water for toilet and shower, but the water is not currently potable, so bring your own water for drinking. If the weather is decent, camping by the creek is the way to go. Firewood will be available - plan on a bonfire by the creek when the shooting is over. All are welcome on Friday, especially if you want to shoot other ordnance. Sorry, no camper hook-ups unless you get close enough to the house to run an extension cord out the window.

Directions:

Find your own way to Boone. Take 431/321 west towards Mountain City, TN. Go down a long hill, past a fuel station on the right - keep going past a large auction yard/junkyard on the right. A few hundred yards past the junkyard, follow 321 when it turns off to the LEFT; there is a skating rink just beyond the turn. Stay on 321 through Cove Creek (the 35 mph sign REALLY means 35 mph!!!) Keep going until you're pretty sure you're lost. You'll cross Watauga River after a few miles, then after a few more miles there will be a small fuel station/convenience store on the right. You're getting close! 321 will make a hard curve to the left on a bridge over Beech Creek; immediately at the end of the bridge turn LEFT onto Buckeye Road. There will also be a sign for Avery County as you cross the bridge. Follow Buckeye Road; it will make a HARD turn uphill to the right; at the top of the hill look to the left and you're looking at the farm. Next road on the LEFT with an open gate will be Fannon Circle... that would be where you turn in. (DON'T turn in at the first gated road on the left at the top of the hill. Bad idea. Really.) Follow the road back to the left and you'll come out in the hayfield, then to the barns and house. Low ground clearance vehicles should be very careful crossing the small stream.

For those who might come in from the TN Side, go through Mtn City towards Boone on 421 and turn RIGHT on 321 at the skating rink, then follow the above directions.

Optionally, use Google Maps and search for Fannon Circle, Avery County, Elk Park, NC - it will get you there, but it routes you through TN coming from Asheville. You probably don't want to do that (unless you're Shelby, driving your little black critter). Going through Boone is a better route, but hey, you're all adults; make your own decisions!
