24th Georgia
Spring Fling Skirmish
March 20 - 21, 2004

As you can probably tell (maybe) from the photos, Joe Parker and the 24th Georgia were invaded by Yankees this past March. Yep, pieces of the 14th and 15th Connecticut made their way past our border guards and fielded teams in all the matches! Sad to say, they left with 1st place medals in half of them, but something's got to shorten the loooong journey home.

Brannen Sanders kept trying to convince them that Atlanta still needed burnin' ... but as they had neither an occupying force nor enough cigarette lighters, they seemed content to merely skirmish.

Being intensely good sports, they didn't even mind having their photos taken shortly after their capture.

"Turn to the right!..."

But... who was the only team in-or-out-of-region to bring home medals in ALL the team matches?? The Buncombe Rifles!

Due to the usual comedy of conflicts, we managed to get there with a mere 6 of our members, but somehow they knew we were there just the same.
