He's a professor @ UT Austin. His wife Mary, who also teaches @ UT, has family in Morganton so they are spending part of the summer in our neck of the woods.
Yawll come on out, ya hea...........
Then, August 7th in the high mountains of Boone. Plan on camping, dinner Saturday night will be cinnamon stewed apples with grilled pork cutlets.

If you are planning to stay in a ‘concrete tent’ in Statesville:

Be aware special rates are available at Masters Inn @ $39.00 & Red Roof Inn @ 40.00. Masters Inn is on the left side of US 21 (the road the range is on) about 300 yards south of I-40. Their phone # is 704-873-5252. There are really good restaurants within walking distance.
There will be a tailgate party in the Master Inn parking lot Following dinner, weather permitting.

When you are making reservations just tell the desk clerk you with the Allison Woods group.

The Buncombe Rifles are the modern re-creation of a North Carolina State Militia unit which was formed just before the start of the American Civil War. The original unit was from the city of Asheville, Buncombe County, in the mountainous western region of North Carolina, hence the name.

A member organization of the North-South Skirmish Association, we are dedicated to the honor and preservation of the memory of the valiant people and the deeds they performed during the War of Northern Aggression. In addition, we strive to promote marksmanship skill with the military weapons of that period through "skirmishing".
